Pediatrics, 2000, 106[1], 160-161. Varicella causes skin pits and keloids - More reasons for the varicella vaccine Scheinfeld, N. and Cohen, S. R. In this letter the two authors report their experience concerning dermatologic sequelae of varicella. These sequelae include cutaneous pits and keloids, particularly among individuals with darkly pigmented skins. They conclude that varicella vaccination should be recommended for such children at-risk.
